The Heart of It: Kindi's Story
About Kindi
Kindi turns 17 next week. She loves all things pink and girly, and she has a fighting spirit that’s impossible to miss. She is bright, resilient, and deeply loved. She is a daughter, friend, and fighter whose courage has shaped everyone around her.
In 2023, Kindi was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. What first appeared as a golf ball–sized tumor in her foot quickly changed the course of her life. She began radiation treatment, facing it with bravery well beyond her years. For a time, the treatment worked, and Kindi entered remission.
In 2025, the cancer returned. The same tumor reappeared in her foot. In order to save her life, Kindi underwent an amputation of her foot, a decision no family ever expects to face, and one that required immense courage, strength, and trust. She had an incredibly difficult time healing from that surgery, and she needed 2 revisions.

After the surgery, Kindi and her family believed the hardest part was behind them. But during her next scan, doctors discovered seven metastatic tumors in her lungs. Once again, everything changed.
Since then, Kindi and her family have been traveling back and forth to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City for ongoing care. Hospital visits, treatments, and long days away from home have become part of their daily reality, along with the emotional and financial weight that comes with fighting childhood cancer.
And yet, through every chapter of this journey, Kindi remains exactly who she is - strong, joyful, and full of heart. She continues to show up with courage and an attitude that inspires everyone who has the privilege of knowing her.

Why We’re Giving Back
This month, our community is coming together through The Heart of It, our giving-back initiative centered on compassion, connection, and meaningful support. Kindi’s story is a powerful reminder that no family should walk this road alone.
A portion of the proceeds from every item in the Permission to Be Collection will be donated directly to Kindi and her family to help ease the financial burden of her ongoing medical care.
This is the heart of it.
